ISA Supplier/Distributor Conference a Rousing Success; Attendance Doubles Over 2010
Alexandria, VA – June 15, 2011 —
The 2011 ISA Supplier/Distributor Conference recently completed, setting in motion new opportunities for those who attended. The event featured several significant changes in the makeup of the event, including the addition of national sign companies to the list of participants.
SDC also included more networking opportunities and a panel discussion with end-users, featuring some of the country’s largest chains. The changes were well received by participants and attendance more than doubled over that of the previous year.
“There was such a positive buzz throughout the SDC,” said Stacey Loflin, ISA’s manager, membership. “It was more of an experience than a conference. Having the national sign companies there really rounded out the ability to conduct true strategic thinking. A significant amount of the conference was spent having all three areas—suppliers, distributors, and national sign companies—sitting around a table discussing issues that affect all of them.”
In addition, attendees heard a rousing keynote address from demographer Ken Gronbach, who offered his views on the future of manufacturing in America. Citing demographic trends around the world, Gronbach predicted that many countries will struggle to supply enough workers, pushing manufacturers back to the United States.
Dave Conklin, co-founder of Prospect MX, helped attendees understand how social media is affecting their businesses, and how they can make the most of it.
“Our speakers certainly were inspiring,” said Lori Anderson, ISA president and CEO. “But I believe the greatest value was in the one-on-one networking opportunity that was offered for the first time. It was a tremendous success and I know that it will become a regular part of the SDC.”
Dates for the 2012 Supplier/Distributor Conference will be posted on www.signs.org/sdc as soon as they become available.
