Troy Crocker Awarded for Service

Troy Crocker, co-owner of Faces in Pelham, Alabama, was presented the Kirk L. Brimley Distinguished Service Award at ISA International Sign Expo® 2019 in Las Vegas. ISA Sign Expo is the sign, graphics and visual communications industry’s leading tradeshow.

Crocker’s service to the industry is lengthy, stretching back to when the former basketball coach/teacher was recruited to Faces and to the industry. He purchased the company with business partner Rod Seay in 2001.

During his tenure on the ISA board of directors, Crocker is credited with helping the International Sign Association® navigate significant structural changes. He also chaired the government affairs committee, where he recast efforts to develop reasonable sign codes. As a result of his collaborative strategy, ISA has helped thousands of communities around the United States craft sign codes that balance aesthetics with business needs.

“Whenever Troy has been faced with a tough job, he has risen to the challenge,” said Lori Anderson, ISA president and CEO and presenter of the award. “Troy is a true leader and one that understands how to get things done, but also when you need to relax and have a little fun.  Serving under Troy was an honor and he is so deserving of this award.”

In addition to his work with ISA, Crocker has made a significant impact on the regional level with the Mid South Sign Association, an ISA Affiliated Association. A former leader of that organization, Crocker was presented its highest honor, the Agnew/Cordray Excellence Award, in 2012.

In nominating Crocker for the award, Mandy Wisner of Southern Signs Inc., wrote: “I’m sure there are many accolades and accomplishments that could be listed during his distinguished career but most of all to me, he has been a mentor within this industry and in life. Troy is always wanting to teach others for the betterment of the industry. He is always ready with advice, leadership, and support anytime I’ve had a question. He is a true life-long friend to my family and business.”
