Wisconsin Officials Agree to Exempt Signs
Last week the State of Wisconsin officials agreed with ISA’s and Wisconsin Sign Association’s request to exempt signs from a state statute that would have required licensed electricians to repair signs. ISA’s James Carpentier, along with Wisconsin Sign Association (WSA) representatives, recently met with the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services to request an exemption from State Statute 101.862(4)(g), which would have required licensed electricians to repair signs. Here is a link to FAQs on the new law that has been prepared by State officials. ISA and WSA are now working with the state to amend this statute so it clearly exempts not only signs from this law, but also the repair of light fixtures.
