Students and Community Members See New Options for Careers on National Manufacturing Day
Eight ISA-member companies representing 12 locations hosted students from middle school to post-high school vocational training programs and community colleges as part of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Manufacturing Day, October 4. ISA partnered with NAM to help expand knowledge and improve perception around manufacturing careers and the value of manufacturing to the U.S. economy.
During Manufacturing Day, participating companies opened their facilities to students and community members to showcase the importance of manufacturing to the local economy well as job opportunities within the industry.
ISA President, Lori Anderson, and a representative from the Connecticut Business & Industry Association toured Lauretano Sign Group of Terryville, Conn. “What an exciting opportunity to see the possibilities in our industry through fresh eyes,” Said Anderson. “Reaching out to the next generation of workers to showcase the variety of careers within our industry is extremely important.”
