Sign Industry Wins in Kennewick, WA
On May 2, the Kennewick Planning Commission in Washington voted to approve major revisions to the city’s sign ordinance. Earlier ordinance proposals were shelved after significant opposition was raised by local sign companies, ISA and the Northwest Sign Council. Under the new ordinance, language establishing a 10-year amortization for nonconforming signs was removed, restrictive controls on EMCs were stricken, and a 40-foot maximum height for new signs was established.
