Sign Community Reaches Out to Planners at SNEAPA
One of most effective ways to enact reasonable sign codes so that businesses and communities benefit is to educate the local officials who draft these ordinances.
That’s why the Northeast States Sign Association (NSSA) and ISA joined together last Friday in a successful outreach to the planning community at the annual Southern New England American Planning Association (SNEAPA) conference. This included exhibiting at the event, interacting with hundreds of area planners, and presenting a seminar on Urban Wayfinding Signs, at which 58 planners attended and earned continuing education credits.
NSSA/ISA’s participation in SNEAPA also helped spread the word about a Planning for Sign Code Success event in Hartford, Conn. on November 13, which will draw dozens more local officials to learn about sign code issues.
ISA’s partnerships with affiliate sign associations have educated hundreds of planners across the country and have resulted in better signs codes. For more information, please contact David Hickey.
