Recycling Neon Signs Is Necessary for Louisiana Compliance
As reported in the July 24 issue of ISA SmartBrief the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) formally approved the International Sign Association’s request for an exemption from the state’s phase-out for mercury-added neon signs. As part of this exemption, mercury-added neon signs sold in Louisiana are required to include labeling to indicate the signs must be properly collected and recycled at the end of their usable lifetimes. ISA has information on proper collection and recycling practices available at www.signs.org/mercuryrecycling. For more information, contact Bill Dundas.
