Raising Arizona Planners’ Sign Knowledge
ISA, the Arizona Sign Association and the Arizona Chapter of the American Planning Association are offering a daylong educational event for local officials Friday in Phoenix. More than 50 planners have registered to attend Planning for Sign Code Success, where they will learn the latest about sign construction and technologies, how to effectively use and properly regulate digital signs, how signs economically impact small businesses and communities, and how to draft legal and enforceable sign codes. This event comes after last month’s similar event in Seattle, where 25 local officials from all over Washington state were educated by sign industry experts, and it will be followed by yet another event targeting local officials Sept. 16 in Dallas.
