New Sign Safety Research Introduced at TRB Meeting
ISA’s Kenny Peskin (@signcodeguy) recently represented the on-premise sign industry at the annual meeting of the Transportation Research Board in Washington, D.C.
The TRB meeting is an annual conference of more than 11,000 academics, engineers, and regulators studying and discussing the latest developments in transportation research. At the TRB Meeting, Texas A&M Prof. Gene Hawkins introduced his recent statistical analysis of the safety impacts of digital on-premise signs. Hawkins’ research found no statistically significant impact between the installation of digital signs and a change in nearby vehicle crashes. Other TRB highlights included SAIC research studying the recognition and safety impacts of state-administered logo signs in the right-of-way. For more information, contact Kenny Peskin.
