ISA Educates Planners in Phoenix
Working in partnership with the Arizona chapter of the American Planning Association, the Arizona Sign Association and the Signage Foundation (SFI), ISA presented a daylong Planning for Sign Code Success seminar Friday in Phoenix. With 58 Arizona planners in attendance (and receiving APA CM credits), planners learned about sign construction technologies, controls of EMCs, determining the value of signs, real-world success in regulating signs and tips for improving local sign ordinances. Speakers included ISA’s Kenny Peskin and James Carpentier, AICP; Kent Grantham (SmithCraft); Mike Freeborg (Yesco Electronics); Rick Bass, MAI/AICP (Bass & Associates); and Andrew Chi (Scottsdale, Ariz., associate planner).
ISA continues to increase its outreach to planners across the country so that they have an increased appreciation and understanding of the value of on-premise signs.
