Hundreds of electrical inspectors now have a better understanding of safety issues involving electric signs thanks to a recent meeting in Sparks, Nevada.

The meeting is part of ISA’s outreach efforts to promote the safety and acceptance of electric-sign products. Members of the ISA Electrical Codes & Standards Subcommittee are exhibiting in five regional Section Meetings of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI) over the next few months.

The first meeting took place on August 25-28, where an ISA representative was able to educate hundreds of local electrical inspectors on the safety issues involved with electric signs. The specialized expertise of ISA members in electrical codes and standards helps to answer local inspectors’ questions and to clarify various enforcement issues pertaining to electric sign projects. These efforts facilitate proper and timely interpretations of the National Electrical Code requirements for electric signs, improve the overall regulatory environment for the sign industry, and make it easier for sign companies to do business.
