Going Global with the Latest in Retail Signage

The Mandalay Bay Convention Center has been a hub of activity for the sign and visual communications industry over the last few weeks. Besides the super–amazing, historic and jam–packed ISA International Sign Expo (we’re not biased or anything), ISA also joined the Association of Retail Environments and POPAI at GlobalShop.

This event is known as the world’s largest annual event for retail design and shopper marketing, attracting top level design firms, branding agencies, and retailers. ISA was an exhibitor and sponsor at GlobalShop. Sapna Budev, ISA’s director of strategic initiatives, hosted the ISA booth and supplied case studies on retail signage, retail wayfinding, brand integrity, landmark signs, and sign codes. She was on hand to answer questions and help retailers make the connection between well–designed signage and increased business.

The GlobalShop show floor was divided into five sections of the retail design industry: store fixtures, visual marketing, store design and merchandising, digital and at–retail marketplace. Retailers and in–store designers had questions about how a sign supports a brand, how to integrate static and digital signage with mobile technology, and how to use signs to increase customer engagement. “Retailers have an impressive level of engagement, interest, and intuition when it comes to both outdoor and indoor visual communications. It was great to partner with Globalshop to offer our own insight and research to all these global brand developers,” said Ms. Budev.

ISA was also proud to bring in James Damian as a featured speaker. Damian has an impressive background with businesses like Buffalo Wild Wings, Best Buy and Harvey Nichols on his resume. He spoke about visual merchandising, store design and creating an emotional connection with customers. Damian’s presentation was extremely well received as there was a long line of people to speak with him after his speech.

The ISA International Sign Expo is currently underway at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center from April 9–11.
