Come into Compliance with EPA 6H Rule Training Requirements

Five years can fly by. Is it time to retrained employees to remain compliant with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) rule on the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAP)? That includes training and testing every spray paint technician employed by the company.

The EPA rules apply to facilities that conduct any of the following: dry abrasive blasting, dry machining, dry grinding or polishing, spray painting and welding of materials containing cadmium, chromium, lead, manganese and nickel.

Sign companies subject to NESHAP 6h and NESHAP 6x rules must comply every five (5) years. This impacts sign companies engaged in surface coating.

Not sure if this affects your company? ISA has compiled a compliance guideline while the EPA guidelines are available here.

To help sign companies comply with the training requirements, ISA has worked with Government Regulatory Compliance LLC to combine the 6h and 6x re-training/re-certification into one 90-minute online workshop. The first workshop begins at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET today, August 20. Additional workshops will be held on the third Thursday of each month throughout the remainder of 2015.

Each participant will receive:

  • EPA-required classroom certified training and testing;
  • EPA-required hands-on certified training and testing;
  • EPA-required copy of classroom and hands-on course syllabus;
  • Printable REA1 certified diploma for classroom training;
  • Printable REA1 certified diploma for hands-on training; and
  • Tabular employee training history report that meets EPA evidence requirement.

Every spray paint technician must register individually in order to receive the certificate of completion and training record to submit to the EPA.

ISA members will receive discounted price of $189. Register for the training. Additional trainings are scheduled on Sept. 17, Oct. 15, Nov. 19 and Dec. 17.
