Another ‘YES’ for EMCs

Another ‘YES’ for EMCs

It was a comprehensive update to the sign code – one approved by the Board of County Commissioners in Kitsap County, Wash. on November 10, 2014. The move modified almost every section of the sign regulations.

The code was revised to address numerous administrative issues and streamline the process, provide predictability, ensure content neutrality, foster economic development, and preserve Kitsap County aesthetics. ISA’s James Carpentier along with Randy Hanson of Hanson Signs Inc. worked with the Sign Code Work Team since Mid-2013 in assisting the County to develop reasonable and enforceable sign regulations.

In the past the County did not allow EMC’s, but the new code permits EMC’s. The revised sign code allows for EMC’s to be 50 percent of the allowable sign area with an 8 second hold time.
