Bill Uline Receives 2026 Kirk L. Brimley Distinguished Service Award at ISA International Sign Expo

Bill Uline, vice president of business development at Faces in Pelham, Ala., has been named a recipient of the 2026 Kirk L. Brimley Distinguished Service Award, one of the sign and graphics industry’s highest honors for service and leadership. Uline received the award during the ISA International Sign Expo 2026 in Orlando, Fla.

The award recognizes individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the advancement of the sign and graphics industry.

Uline, who entered the sign and graphics industry in the early 1990s, joined Faces in 1995 and quickly became involved with the International Sign Association (ISA) and its affiliated associations. Over the course of his career, he has played a key role in industry standards and regulatory collaboration.

He served as chairman of ISA’s Electrical Codes & Standards Subcommittee for a decade and remained active on the committee. In this role, Uline helped represent the industry in discussions with regulatory bodies including the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Underwriters Laboratories (UL), helping ensure that industry practices and safety standards remain aligned.

In addition to his work on standards, Uline has served on ISA’s Supplier-Distributor Steering Committee, which advises the ISA Board of Directors, and on the association’s Public Affairs Committee.

His contributions extend to several regional sign associations. Uline currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Midwest Sign Association and on the auction committee for the Texas Sign Association. In recognition of his contributions, he was inducted into the Mid-South Sign Association Hall of Fame in 2016 and received the organization’s Agnew/Condray Excellence Award in 2023.

Colleagues who nominated Uline for the Brimley Award highlighted his long-standing commitment to mentorship and his willingness to support others throughout the industry. “Bill’s dedication to the sign industry goes far beyond his professional role,” one nominator wrote. “He consistently takes time to share his knowledge and experience with colleagues, customers, and newcomers alike. His focus has always been on helping others learn, grow, and succeed.”

Uline credited many mentors who helped him early in his career. “There are so many people who helped me along the way,” Bill said. “I always felt it was important to give that back. You don’t get where you want to be unless you help others get to where they want to be.”

Before entering the on-premise sign industry, Uline served in the U.S. Army and worked in the outdoor advertising sector.

The Kirk L. Brimley Distinguished Service Award is presented annually by the International Sign Association during the ISA International Sign Expo.
