Wayfinding Signage Resources Available
In an effort to boost tourism and city pride, towns of all sizes are adopting wayfinding systems. But planning and executing the right system is vital to the taxpayers’ investment. Finding funding for the project initially to ensuring that it is built to last—and can be adapted to changing needs—requires a team approach every step along the way.
The Signage Foundation Inc. has developed a free resource guide, Urban Wayfinding Planning and Implementation Guide to help designers, architects, sign companies and city leaders understand all the requirements of an urban wayfinding system.
The International Sign Association has developed a companion webinar series, hosted by the manual’s author, Craig Berger. He is joined by Sapna Budev, International Sign Association ; Dawn Jourdan, University of Oklahoma; Adrian Bell, Bureau Spiekerman.
The webinars focused on the most famous international wayfinding project: Legible London. It is available at ISA’s website on demand.
