Survey Confirms Signs are Crucial
A FedEx Office survey of nearly 1,000 people has found that signs play a critical role when it comes to attracting customers for small businesses. The “What’s Your Sign” survey found a strong connection between attractive, visible signs and positive customer decisions. This includes findings that 76 percent of people have entered a store they have never visited before based on its signs, and 68 percent have bought something because a sign caught their eye. The FedEx Office-commissioned survey also found that women and young people especially consider attractive signs as valuable marketing tools. These results confirm what comprehensive surveys by the University of San Diego (1997) and the University of Cincinnati (2012) have conducted on the economic value of signs to small businesses.
