Sunnyvale, Calif. Council Makes Positive Sign Code Changes

Sunnyvale, Calif. Council Makes Positive Sign Code Changes

In late June, ISA’s James Carpentier (@jamescarpentier) testified before the Sunnyvale Council at a public hearing on revisions to the sign code. Carpentier voiced ISA’s support of the changes, which include: increasing the allowable square footage for wall signs along El Camino Real, allowing for multiple wall signs, allowing for projecting signs, additional options for temporary signs, allowing freeway signs and the inclusion of electronic message centers. Mr. Carpentier requested that the Council consider allowing for electronic message centers to have a shorter hold time and consider additional height and square footage for freeway signs in the near future when the sign code changes are evaluated. The Council unanimously approved the sign ordinance amendments. For more information, contact ISA’s James Carpentier.
