Successful Sign Code Conclusion
On July 24, the Arlington County (VA) Council passed their new sign code. ISA played a significant role in working with the County Planning Commission, city staff and local sign companies to try and come up with reasonable language, especially regarding sign illumination, nonconforming signs and roof signs.
Over the last 16 months, ISA staff has participated in more than a dozen meetings, public forums and stakeholder focus groups. The revised ordinance will result in increased flexibility of sign locations, allowable sign forms, and a greatly streamlined permitting process.
