Sign Code Work Team Makes Key Changes to Kitsap, Wa., Sign Code
The fourth in a series of Sign Code Work Team meetings was held in Kitsap County, Wa., with small businesses, county officials, representatives of the Northwest Sign Council (NWSC) and ISA. Major revisions to the Kitsap County sign code were addressed. ISA’s James Carpentier (@jamescarpentier) attended the meeting along with Randy Hanson of Hanson Signs Inc., a member of the NWSC. The code revisions address numerous administrative issues, streamline processes, provide predictability, ensure content neutrality, foster economic development and preserve Kitsap County aesthetics. Carpentier and Hanson provided recommendations to update sign codes relating to allowances for wall and ground signs, temporary sign regulations, electronic message center hold times and regulations, and design review standards.
The County plans on holding another Sign Code Work Team meeting in the near future. For more information, please contact James Carpentier.
