“Effective Wayfinding” Session Selected for National American Planning Association Conference
The International Sign Association has been selected to present a session, titled “Effective Wayfinding” at the American Planning Association’s (APA) 2014 National Planning Conference in Atlanta, on April 26-30. The approval of a session at National APA is very competitive and this will provide an excellent opportunity for planners to learn even more about signs from sign industry professionals and their fellow planners. The workshop will be based on ISA’s recently completed “Urban Wayfinding Planning and Implementation Manual” and webinar series, which educated over 300 planners online in 2013. This manual was prepared in response to requests for information from a number of planners on Urban Wayfinding at last year’s APA conference.
The APA session will be moderated by ISA’s James Carpentier. Speakers include Craig Berger (Associate Chair, Visual Presentation and Exhibition Design Program Fashion Institute of Technology), Sachin Kalbag, (Senior Urban Designer, Miami Downtown Development Association), and Todd Vaught (Vice-president/Principal, Sky Design).
