Oak Harbor, Wash. Planning Commission Holds Off on EMC Regulations
On May 28 the Oak Harbor Planning Commission held a public hearing on proposed EMC regulations. ISA’s James Carpentier (@jamescarpentier) testified at the public hearing on behalf of the Northwest Sign Council to voice some concerns in regards to the new EMC regulations. Among the issues noted with the proposed code includes: EMC night-time illumination levels that are too bright, content regulation, color limitations, and a code as drafted would be a challenge to administer and enforce. The Planning Commission agreed to continue the public hearing until June 25th to allow staff additional time to review the Northwest Sign Council/ISA’s recommendations.
