New Opportunities for Green Signage Abound
ISA Director of Industry Programs Sapna Budev researched the latest green building codes and standards, along with innovations in signage materials and lighting, at the Greenbuild conference earlier this month. The conference stressed an increase in collaboration between building codes, such as the International Green Construction Code; standards, such as ASHRAE and ANSI; and rating systems, such as LEED and CalGreen. Both the Marriott hotel chain and Kohl’s department stores renewed their commitment to building 300 LEED-certified facilities by 2015. To prove their ability to compete for these projects, companies showed marked movement toward sustainability certifications — for manufacturing facilities and for their products.
