Look around Columbus, OH, and you will find many sign projects that were built and designed by long-time sign maker Mike Bethel.
Mike’s 40-plus year career in the industry—and for the last 18 years at Advance Sign Group—has been a personally fulfilling journey that combined his vision, insight and know-how.
Some of his most notable local projects were the Ricart Mega Store pylon, the giant King’s Island pylon sign along I-71 south, and the AMC theater marquee at Easton Towne Center. And who doesn’t recognize and marvel at his collection of colorful butterflies that adorn many structures at Nationwide Children’s Hospital? Mike’s impact on the sign industry has been also felt across the U.S. on various projects for Advance Sign Group’s growing national customer base.
“Mike was very instrumental in the design as well as the structural integrity of many large signage projects we performed for our clients. He is a one of a kind talent, and he will be missed,” says Kenny Chumley, a longtime Advance Sign Group associate and personal friend.
Advance Sign Group has big shoes to fill with Mike’s retirement and will be focused on securing new talent to carry on his great legacy.
We admire Mike for his dedication to the company, his wealth of industry knowledge, and the pride he always shows in his work. We congratulate Mike and wish him well in his retirement. Thank you, Mike!
