ISA Works With West Virginia Businesses to Improve Local Sign Code
Last week, ISA’s State & Local Government Affairs Manager, Kenny Peskin (@signcodeguy), met with the Putnam County (WV) Chamber of Commerce to develop a business-backed proposal amending the county’s sign ordinance. Invited by several large real estate developers and leading retailers, ISA will be guiding the Chamber as part of their participation in Putnam County’s Visioning Process. Involvement with the regulations in Putnam County presents several unique challenges due to the significant growth expected in the County over the next decade, the conflicts presented between the current zoning regulations and the total absence of zoning in the County before 1996, and the current absence of mandatory building codes in the unincorporated areas of the County. ISA and the Chamber expect the Visioning Process to continue throughout 2013. For more information, please contact Kenneth Peskin.
