ISA Opposes Sign Code Provisions in Duluth

ISA Opposes Sign Code Provisions in Duluth

On October 9, ISA’s Kenny Peskin (@signcodeguy) joined several industry representatives in raising concern about several sections of the new draft sign code being considered by the Duluth Planning Commission.  ISA expressed opposition to provisions dealing with sign height, sign size, and wording of several other rules.  In addition, Peskin raised questions about the legality of a clause that proposes to “limit the number of items of information” on a sign.  ISA believes that the clause is both a poorly-conceived public policy that will adversely impact local businesses, as well as a content-based restriction on speech that could possibly invalidate the entire ordinance.  For more information, please contact ISA’s Kenny Peskin or the Minnesota Sign Association’s Steve Fox.
