ISA, NSSA Educate Building Officials
On March 26, ISA’s Kenny Peskin (@signcodeguy) was a featured speaker at the Eastern States Building Officials Federation conference in Quincy, Mass. Peskin joined Northeast States Sign Association board members Bill Gavigan (Viewpoint Sign & Awning; Northboro, Mass.) and Jeff Bauman (@EMPHyperion; Electro-Matic Products; Farmington Hills, Mich.), as well as Darrin Conroy (NYS Small Business Development Center; Albany, N.Y.) in educating building officials from eight New England and Northeastern states. Attendees were educated on sign construction technologies, the economic impact of signs, legal issues in sign regulation, how to effectively treat EMCs, and the process of developing sign codes. This appearance was the latest invitation built on a successful long-term relationship developed by NSSA and ISA with building officials and planners in Massachusetts and across the northeast.
