ISA Helps Pass Key Illinois Law for On-Premise Signs
On July 8, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn signed into law Public Act 098-0056 (“Amending the Highway Advertising Control Act of 1971”) reversing a 2012 policy interception that had increased permitting requirements for on-premise signs. Now in effect, Public Act 098-0056 specifically exempts on-premise and real estate signs from most oversight by the Illinois Department of Transportation’s outdoor advertising regulations. In May, ISA’s Kenny Peskin (@signcodeguy) traveled to Springfield, IL, to testify before the Senate State Government and Veterans Affairs Committee.
