ISA Brings Planner Education to Texas
ISA and the Texas Sign Association hosted a daylong Planning for Sign Code Success seminar on August 3 in San Antonio, Texas. Planners and code officials from across Texas learned about sign construction technologies, the economic impact of signs, legal issues in sign regulation, controls of EMCs, and the process of developing sign codes. Speakers included Stew Edinger (Federal Heath Sign; Euless, Texas), David Spatholt (University of Cincinnati DAAP), Joel Heine (@daktronics; Houston, Texas), and ISA’s Kenny Peskin (@signcodeguy).
In 2012, ISA, its regional associations, and the Signage Foundation Inc. have educated more than 100 planners on the value of on-premises signs. Moving forward in 2012, ISA and its regional associations plan on presenting an additional planner education seminar in Garden Grove, Calif. (September 14).
