ISA and USSC to Testify at International Green Construction Code Hearings
Next week, representatives of ISA and USSC will appear at the International Code Council (ICC) hearings in Dallas to defend industry code change proposals. ISA and USSC collaborated with several industry allies to submit comments on a new model green building code currently in its second round of revisions. This coalition is seeking changes to the rules governing illumination of exterior signage and the use of neon and cold cathode lamps. As currently written, the new International Green Construction Code would establish shutoff requirements for signs at close of business and would greatly restrict the use of most types of lamps that contain mercury.
