Help ISA Promote Workforce Development in Your Community
Millions of young people are returning to school this week, and ISA is helping sign companies reach the next generation of workers by partnering with the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) in Manufacturing Day on October 4th. The goal of Manufacturing Day is to share the impact of manufacturing on the country’s economy and to improve the perception of manufacturing careers, including those in the sign industry. Manufacturing Day is a valuable way to reach the next generation of sign company employees – high school, vocational school and community college students.
Want to help promote workforce development in your community? Participate in Manufacturing Day. Sign companies interested in participating should be in close proximity to a high school, vocational school and/or community college; maintain a clean facility with strong safety standards; be large enough to accommodate tours of up to 20 students/adults; promote the event using materials developed through ISA; and be able to provide an engaging tour guide.
ISA will provide participating sign companies with an event tool kit, including sample letters to schools, tips for hosting an open house and suggestions for the plant tour guide. Several ISA member companies have already signed up to participate in Manufacturing Day. Businesses wishing to participate should contact ISA’s Alison Kent as soon as possible.
