End Your Frustration – New Online Resource for UL Subscribers Unveiled

End Your Frustration – New Online Resource for UL Subscribers Unveiled

If your business is a subscriber to Underwriter Laboratories LLC (UL) follow-up service (FUS) for sign certification, a new online resource is now available to help you get the detailed answers and prompt service that you need.

The UL Sign Industry Business Panel, which includes representatives from the ISA, USSC and WSA, are pleased to announce the creation of a new online forum that UL subscribers can use to ask technical or program questions relating to UL 48 Electric Signs, and get answers quickly from UL staff who are established technical experts with extensive knowledge of UL 48 and its proper interpretation.

Subscribers to UL’s FUS for sign certification have long had issues with the inconsistent application of UL 48 by UL compliance auditors. With the unveiling of the UL Electric Sign Collaboration Group, uniformity should become the norm for UL’s sign certification customers.

Questions relating to technical production issues can be posted at UL’s new LinkedIn page with one or more of a battery of UL engineers providing the answer to the correct procedure. The questions and answers will be available for viewing on the dedicated Linkedin site by all subscribers to UL’s Follow-up Services as well as FUS auditors. Direct access by UL auditors to this site will assure that UL FUS auditors are “on the same” page and provide uniform application of UL Standards for electric sign manufacturers, eliminating inconsistent application of UL Standards and making it easier for your company to resolve certification issues so you can focus on more important aspects of your business.

The concept for the UL Electric Sign Collaboration Group was developed by UL’s Gregory Smith at the urging of industry representatives for ISA, WSA and USSC on the UL Sign Industry Business Panel. For more information, please contact ISA’s David Hickey.
