Design and Digital Programs Launch New Opportunities at ISA Expo
Education at last week’s International Sign Expo reached new heights of success as attendance increased by 9 percent compared to 2011, the last year the show took place in Las Vegas. Attendees were especially responsive to two new tracks added to this year’s slate: Dynamic Digital Signage and Architectural Design. The Dynamic Digital Signage series attracted more than 100 attendees and several sessions were standing-room only. Presenters such as Alan Brawn and Lyle Bunn stressed the opportunities for sign companies in this fast-growing segment. In an effort to engage Designers, Architects, End Users, and Academics, ISA brought a delegation of 40 designers/architects, held six AIA accredited educational sessions, two networking events, and a guided tour of the exhibit hall. The sessions averaged 130 registrants per session and three were sold out. Key discussion points were focused on digital/mobile applications in wayfinding, understanding ADA, NFPA, and LEED codes in signage, using BIM for large sign programs, and case studies in integrated design.
