Arlington County, Va., Proposes Revisions to Sign Code
Arlington County, Va., recently released a working draft of its revised sign ordinance. This proposal would streamline the comprehensive sign plan process, allow for increased use of awnings and logoed umbrellas, provide greater flexibility in allowable forms of attached signage, and permit the installation of on-premise electronic signage (currently prohibited). ISA staff joined local member companies in meeting with county officials at two public forums and two sign industry-centered focus groups in June and September. Public meetings will continue this fall, with a County Council public hearing tentatively scheduled for Nov. 19. For more information, contact [email protected].
