APA on Board to Help Develop Better Sign Codes
The American Planning Association (APA) has teamed with ISA and its Affiliated Associations to work to improve regulations and help sign companies grow their business. ISA recently joined with the Arizona Sign Association to exhibit at the annual Arizona APA chapter conference and will also be joining the Colorado Sign Association to exhibit at the annual Colorado APA conference with the same purpose of educating planners and helping them develop reasonable and beneficial sign codes.
ISA also hosts day-long educational events, meets with dozens of planning offices in the course of conducting ISA’s “rapid response” sign code service each year. Webinars on issues like urban wayfinding and how to effectively treat EMCs, and developing grassroots tools that sign companies can use to provide to their local officials are all part of the ISA efforts to inform key groups about the value of good sign codes.
