ISA’s International Sign Expo Climbs Tradeshow Week Top 200 Shows in the Nation

Alexandria, VA – May 26, 2009

Tradeshow Week magazine has named ISA’s International Sign Expo to its Tradeshow Week 200, as the 85th largest trade show in the nation. This distinction acknowledges the magnitude of the sign industry’s foremost annual event in the U.S., a trade show that is recognized as the premier meeting place of the on-premise sign industry supply chain. Compiled annually by Tradeshow Week magazine, the prestigious Tradeshow Week 200 list ranks U.S. trade expositions according to the net square feet of paid exhibit space. The final ranking is the culmination of a yearlong process of analyzing data on nearly 5,000 shows. This is the seventh consecutive year the Expo has been named to the list, the position of which has grown each year. This year’s position on the list shows a rise in 18 places from the previous year’s ranking to 85 from 103.

“We are thrilled that the sign industry’s leading trade show continues to show a strong and growing presence among the nation’s trade shows,” said ISA SVP Brian McNamara. “To be listed among so many other notable industries’ trade shows is truly an honor for ISA and an achievement for the industry. We are particularly impressed that the Expo continues to exceed expectations.”

This year’s announcement follows a successful 2009 ISA International Sign Expo, held April 15 – 18, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Nearly 18,000 people met in Las Vegas, to experience the latest in technology, educational offerings and networking opportunities. The exhibit hall featured 500 companies, staffing nearly 1,600 exhibit booths.

The 2009 International Sign Expo was ISA’s 63rd show, an event which continues to demonstrate a robust market of commerce for the global sign industry. The growth of the show among the nation’s trade shows follows the trajectory of growth of the sign industry itself. The advent of digital print imaging has largely contributed to this expansion of the sign industry, which continues to grow through advancements and innovations in digital technology.
