International Sign Association, Specialty Graphics Imaging Association Serve Distinct Audiences, New Survey Shows

Alexandria, VA – October 4, 2010

The International Sign Association (ISA) and the Specialty Graphics Imaging Association (SGIA) draw vastly different audiences to their annual expositions, a recent survey showed.

The survey, which compared four trade shows over a two-year period, revealed that there is only a 15.4 percent overlap in attendees between the two expos. That means that almost 85 percent of the attendees are unique to each event. In 2010, ISA’s International Sign Expo drew more than 17,000 visitors while SGIA’s 2009 expo drew in excess of 14,000.

“This survey only reinforces our belief that ISA and SGIA each have significant roles to play in serving our diverse audiences,” said Lori Anderson, ISA President and CEO. “While there are several exhibitors who participate in both, these two expos provides the ideal way to showcase the latest technology and business practices to these unique audiences.”

ISA and SGIA are working closely to maximize the effectiveness of the industry’s two leading trade associations and their respective expositions. Both associations are taking important steps to best serve the changing interests of their constituents, while helping to build on the success of the sign and graphic markets, particularly those located in North America.

The ISA’s upcoming International Sign Expo 2011 will be held April 28-30 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Related educational and networking events run April 27-30. Registration for both events is now open; visit www.signexpo.org to learn more. SGIA holds its annual expo each fall.
