International Sign Association and Esko Release White Paper on New Market Opportunities for Digital Print

Alexandria, VA – March 27, 2017 — Digital printing continues to grow significantly, creating new opportunities for printers. A new white paper from ISA and Esko and compiled by InfoTrends, “Market Opportunities for Digital Print,” explores the ways digital printing is transforming the packaging, signage and display supply chain. The white paper also includes case studies of a number of print shops that have improved productivity by implementing Esko’s solutions.

As wide format printing technology has advanced with new inks and media types, the need to efficiently prepare files has been driving the adoption of advanced workflow solutions. Although all workflows are different, each one will create waste in specific steps of the process. The white paper explores how digital print production can complement cost-cutting by delivering predictable and accurate performance, eliminating waste and reducing variability.

Printer innovations can only go so far, without an eye on the overall production flow. The workflow is connected from the time the design is created to when the final product is approved by the customer, produced and shipped. Printers wanting to improve workflow may focus on various elements, including structural design and customer approval, production scheduling, prepress and cutting.

“Market Opportunities for Digital Print” joins a growing number of papers that provide insight into all aspects of printing. They are available at www.signs.org/research. All are free for ISA and Affiliated Association members, or $24.95 each for non-members.
