Five Companies Achieve Gold with ISA Educational Offerings

Alexandria, VA – November 2, 2010

Five companies have received the Gold Level for Excellence in Education through ISA’s International Sign Academy. The companies each earned between 51 and 75 Professional Development Units (PDUs) through participation in ISA educational programming.

More than 20 companies have reached Silver Level while more than 60 have achieved Bronze in the program’s first year.

“This is truly a remarkable achievement for all of these companies, but especially those that have received the Gold Level,” said Tracey Cook, ISA Director of Education and Communications. “It definitely shows their commitment to ensuring that their employees excel in all facets of the sign industry.”

PDUs are “points” or “credits” earned for participating in International Sign Academy educational programs. Each PDU earned is based on the amount of time required for completion of a course, as well as the level of interaction required by the course. Individual completion of continuing education programs provides the participant with essential knowledge to become a productive employee, an asset to a sign company, and a positive influence on a company’s bottom line. While the individual achievement of programming completion remains with the individual, Excellence in Education awards remain with the company.

By earning PDUs and Excellence in Education awards, company owners increase the value of their company and gain a competitive advantage over those that do not. Companies can include their recognitions and learning/training accomplishments in company profiles, bids for work, in marketing literature, on company websites and more.

Those who earned the Gold Level were: CNP Signs & Graphics, based in San Diego, Calif.; Color-Ad, Inc., based in Manassas, Va.; Sure Light Sign Company in Elgin, Ill.; Canedy Sign & Graphics, in Cape Girardeau, Mo.; and Young Electric Sign Company (YESCO) in Salt Lake City, Utah.

ISA Member companies—and non-members as well—may pursue further education through the offerings of the International Sign Academy. The academy offers a robust lineup of courses immediately preceding and during the International Sign Expo. In addition, a number of seminars and webinars are available through ISA’s website, www.signexpo.org.
